Access code: ledger
Activity: Disclosure Activity
Decide: As a table group, decide which 2-3 pieces from the disclosure are the most important to remember. What information will help you be successful in this course? Are there any policies or procedures that you find unusual? What aspects of school do you personally struggle with, and how can the policies/procedures in the disclosure impact those struggles?
Agree: After a brief discussion, come to a group consensus and agree on the 2-3 most important elements. Take a couple of sticky notes from the middle of the table and write those important elements on individual sticky notes. WRITE EVERYBODY’S NAMES ON THE STICKY NOTES.
2 important elements: 2 sticky notes
3 important elements: 3 sticky notes
Post: Send one group member to post your sticky notes on the assigned whiteboard divider.
Assignment: American Identity Writing
Directions: This is intended to be an assessment of your writing ability at the beginning of the course. You will be graded on completion only, not on the quality of your writing. Your objective is to write a three-paragraph response, using information from the provided articles and video clips, answering the question: What does it mean to be an American? Please make sure to include a clear thesis statement, cite textual evidence in MLA format, and use proper grammar in your response. Format your response like a standard essay, including an introduction paragraph, one body paragraph, and a concluding paragraph.
