       • Write one quote directly tied to the scene focus in MLA.

     • STEP TWO

       • Write two inferences about the quote

         • Each inference must be 3-4 sentences

       • Your inferences should analyze what the quote reveals about:

         • Theme

         • Character

         • Symbolism

         • Tone

         • Author’s purpose

     • STEP THREE

       • Create a drawing representing your quote and scene focus

       • Each drawing must combine:

         • What the text literally describes

         • What your inferences reveal beneath the surface

       • Each drawing should:

         • Include at least 3 symbolic details beyond the literal description

         • Use intentional design (placement, scale, color, contrast)
