2. Reading & Assignment: Read Gatsby Chapter 3 and complete the assignment.

   • Part 1 Directions: Chapter 3 of The Great Gatsby is about Nick attending Gatsby’s infamous parties for the first time and meeting the man himself. The chapter contains many descriptions of the various party guests, but they are not described randomly. You will classify the guests into social groups based on shared behaviors and patterns.

   • Part 2 Directions: Although Gatsby hosts the party, he does not behave like his guests. Collect three quotes from Chapter 3 that describe Gatsby himself (his behavior, reputation, and presence).
